I think it was a pretty good year in terms of K-pop releases, especially for debut and rookie groups! It was very difficult but I have managed to gather my top 10 (title tracks ONLY), I will have a separate top 10 only for B-side tracks. I’ve also only included 1 track per artist/group otherwise Ateez would have most of these places 🙂 Also this list is obviously just my opinion!

The highly anticipated debut of SM’s power group is finally here. Many fans were excited and many were nervous about the high focus on the American market as this group features a lot of K-pop fan’s fav’s from SM groups SHINee, EXO and NCT. Quite honestly some of the best artist’s in K-pop, there was a lot riding on this release so how did it stand up to the hype? While I know and admire all of these members previously from their respective groups I wouldn’t consider myself a stan of any of them, but still I was very excited to see what this was all about.

I decided to compile a list of K-pop songs according to different moods, just for fun. These songs of course are mostly from my own personal tastes so please don’t be offended if your favs arn’t listed here, feel free to leave songs in the comments! I tried to take the sound of the song as well as the lyrics into consideration while categorising (I also tried to only have 1 song per artist per category), I hope you enjoy and maybe find something new that you like. Songs marked with a ♥ means it’s one of my all time favs and you should definitely check it out. (links lead to lyric videos on YouTube)

This is a K-pop series of posts that me and my friend Keira decided to do for fun! The general idea for this is around on YouTube but we customised the questions to what we wanted and thought would be the most interesting. We are both big K-pop fans but our tastes tend to different as well which makes answering these questions more fun.
I’ve been in to K-pop on and off since early BoA, Wonder Girls (00’s) but became what I consider a hardcore fan in early 2017. Keira has been a K-pop fan since 2016 and she posts a lot about K-pop on her blog which you should definitely go and check out and read Part 1 to this post which is also on her blog.

A: BTS’ Wings era: “Aesthetic. Everything about this concept was beautiful and haunting.”
K: DREAMCATCHER’s Nightmare era: “Incredibly unique concept, slightly creepy yet incredibly beautiful, and I love their rock concept in general.”
