March Wrap Up

Books I read and finished in March

This month I listened to 2 audio books, read 2 manga, 2 novels and 2 novellas. I have a Scribd and Audible membership at the moment so I obviously want to listen to more audio books when I’m just not in the mood to read physically. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo was such a good audio book because of the way it was laid out interview style and I really enjoyed it. I then decided to try a book I physically have but knew I wouldn’t get round to physically reading for a long time. Vox was shocking, as it is meant to be, but ended up falling short for me by the end.

I finished reading A Curse So Dark and Lonely and gave it 5 stars even thought it did take me a while to read. The other book I picked up, The Bone Witch, I am still currently reading but enjoying. I was feeling a need to read Japanese authors so I picked up a couple of novellas that I already had. I finished the Frankenstein manga and started a new manga series, Children of the whales. I’m still reading (slowly) The Priory of the Orange Tree and have decided to pick up the audio book for it on audible.

April TBR

I’m switching things up in April seeing as the BooksandTea discord server is having a short stories readathon for the month I decided to take advantage of that and get to some of the short story collections I already have and pick up ones I’ve been interested in. Lizard by Banana Yoshimoto, Death in Midsummer by Yukio Mishima, Men Without Women by Haruki Murakami are ones I already own. The Penguin book of Japanese Short Stories paperback comes out on the 4th so I have ordered that in hopes of discovering other Japanese authors to read. I also decided to give Stephen King another go and picked up Night Shift, a collection of horror short stories. Junji Ito’s latest collection also comes out in April so I have ordered that too. Aside from short stories, if I have time I’d like to get to Other Words for Smoke which is a new release. I also have an eARC for Nocturna to read in April as it comes out early May.

Favourite K-Pop releases in March

Other Plans

I’ve started doing weekly book giveaways on Twitter so go follow me and enter if you’re from the UK. I’m also thinking of hosting monthly Japanese readalongs on here and Twitter where I basically pick a book by a Japanese author to read that month and other people can read it too if they want and at the end of the month I’ll do a spoiler blog post where we can chat about the book, let me know if this is something you’d be interested in! I’ll post an official announcement for it in the near future.

I have more K-pop content planned for April, another Me vs. My Friends but this time it’s a BTS edition seeing as, yes, BTS is coming back and I’m super excited! The 12th may be filled with BTS spam from me and of course I’ll be posting an album review once I have recovered.
